LANFest Colorado began in 2007 with its first event held inside a conference room at the Intel campus in Colorado.
Organized primarily by Intel employees, the event drew an impressive crowd and quickly built momentum.
What started as a modest local LAN turned into a growing movement as volunteers from outside Intel began stepping up and contributing. That first event in 2007 marked the start of what would become one of Colorado’s longest-running gaming traditions.
We quickly realized we had outgrown the Intel facility and made the move to the Larimer County Fairgrounds at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado.
With more space, the event scaled up quickly, welcoming more attendees, new games, and broader community participation.
After a strong run in Northern Colorado, policy changes at the fairgrounds meant we could no longer host overnight events.
In 2015, we found our new home in Castle Rock at the Douglas County Fairgrounds and Event Center. The new venue gave us everything we needed: flexible space, overnight access, and room to grow. Since that move, LANFest Colorado has continued to evolve and thrive.
Castle Rock has proven to be a fantastic home base, and we’ve been running our events there ever since.
In 2026 we celebrate our 20th anniversary—two decades of Colorado’s largest LAN party. Join us September 24–27, 2026 in Castle Rock for our biggest event yet.
LANFest Colorado is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building healthy communities through gaming.
Today, we welcome over 300 attendees per event and have raised more than $50,000 for Colorado-based charities including:
We’re also incredibly fortunate to have the support of amazing partners and sponsors who donate prizes for our raffles at each event. These giveaways bring excitement and energy to the LAN while helping us raise even more for charity. The event continues to be family-friendly, fun for all ages, and welcoming to gamers of all types—from competitive FPS players to casual builders and board gamers.
LANFest Colorado is 100% volunteer-powered. From setting up hundreds of tables and power drops to managing tournaments and registration, it’s all made possible by passionate individuals who believe in our mission.
